Rupture and Rapture

        Rupture

Is a term that means to tore apart or separate, as discussed in class it was keyed to show the separation of the individuals and the society, how everyone tried their best in order to be different but at the same time failing in doing so.
This term is dangerously close to Rapture, an old word that implies being caught up in something, it can refer to the group of people left behind or the group that moved forward to look for their lord, in either case it divides the world and individuals based on their interest and character.
I had a little fit when first listening to the word in class because it house the same meaning as the city in a famous game Bioshock, a multiverse world where the most most outstanding minds set out to a separate community under the sea in order to further develop their arts, sciences and themselves without the prejudice of society and especially without the moral bindings.
"I am Andrew Ryan, and I am here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No,' says the man in Washington, 'it belongs to the poor.' 'No,' says the man in the Vatican, 'it belongs to God.' 'No,' says the man in Moscow, 'it belongs to everyone.' I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Rapture. A city where the artist would not fear the censor. Where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality. Where the great would not be constrained by the small. And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city as well."  ―Andrew Ryan
Both inspíred in a post WW II world, where the uneasines and lack of identity is causing a silent crisis that breaks the mind and the body of society.
